The Finance Department oversees the daily financial activities of the District, ensuring the highest level of financial accountability and transparency in compliance with District policy and Governmental Accounting Standards.
The department is responsible for financial reporting, general ledger preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, procurement, financial planning and forecasting, investments, budget preparation and monitoring, debt programs, and audit preparation.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to JCSUD for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2021. This certificate is the 9th consecutive year that JCSUD has achieved this prestigious award that recognizes conformance with the highest standards for preparing state and local government financial reports.
The AMI Department is responsible for maintaining the AMI meter reading systems, including collectors, meters, nodes, installation, and troubleshooting equipment and software. The department responds to any maintenance or customer issues related to the meter box and performs customer relations as necessary. The AMI Department also performs service activations and disconnections.
