The District Board of Directors met on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 4:30 PM.
Following a detailed summary presentation by Lauren Peterson, Finance Manager, the Board of Directors voted to approve the 2025 JCSUD Annual Budget as presented. The budget focuses on maintaining and enhancing the district’s water and wastewater services and includes key investments in infrastructure upgrades and operational efficiencies to support growth in the service area. It demonstrates fiscal responsibility to maintain water rate stability during an uncertain economy while applying strategic planning to manage growth and implement capital improvements on a timely basis.
The Board voted to un-table the action on the Transmission Storage Tank (TST) settlement evaluation report from the September meeting. In 2023, the District engaged Hazen and Sawyer (Hazen) to evaluate the structural integrity of its three-million-gallon Transmission Storage Tank (TST) due to concerns about differential settlement. Hazen's analysis, completed in August 2024, concluded that TST is no longer structurally sound or suitable for continued use. Hazen provided three solutions to address the settlement at TST. After discussing cost and feasibility, the Board voted to approve issuing a task order to Hazen to develop a scope of work and secure a contractor to perform the required repairs and stabilization of TST, which includes stabilizing the existing tank’s foundation, constructing a new tank, and then leveling the existing tank. This project will be funded from the 2025 Capital Improvement Projects budget.
