The District Board of Directors met on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 4:30 PM.
Joshua Howard, General Manager, updated the Board on current District projects, including the preliminary design of the Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant, growth-driven projects, project funding, policy review, legislative change proposals, and an update on the 2025 Board of Directors election.
The Board of Directors approved the transition of the District’s retirement plan’s financial advisor with Edward Jones from Neal Logan to Chris Gabel, effective January 2025. Neal Logan has served as JCSUD’s retirement plan’s financial advisor for 20 years and is nearing retirement. Chris Gabel, an Edward Jones advisor since 2008, operates an office in Grandview and is dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals.
The Board of Directors approved the purchase of a new Interstate backhoe trailer for the water operations department in 2025. This decision follows the successful implementation of a new Interstate trailer in early 2024, which addressed limitations with older Belshe trailers that struggled to support the increased weight of newer backhoes, leading to frequent maintenance and safety concerns. This additional trailer will replace an aging Belshe trailer used by JCSUD’s second backhoe crew, ensuring safer and more reliable equipment transport. This investment enhances operational efficiency, reduces repair costs, and provides a long-term solution for JCSUD’s equipment transport needs.
